Abstract:
A method of making blanks from a slab which provides for two stages of deformation of the slab when dividing it into blanks, the first stage consisting in subjecting the slab to shearing deformation and the second one consisting in subjecting it simultaneously to shearing and compressive deformations. An instrument for making blanks from a slab comprises two strikers (2, 3). The working surface of each striker (2, 3) is oriented at an angle to the geometrical axis (7) of the die and has a shearing deformation section (8) located on the side of the entry of the slab into the die and a shearing-compressive deformation section (9), the working surface of each striker (2, 3) being provided with grooves (5).
