Abstract:
Disclosed according to the present invention are a method for decoding a video signal and a device therefor. Specifically, a method for decoding an image on the basis of an inter-prediction mode may comprise: when a merge mode is applied to a current block, generating a merge candidate list by using a spatial neighboring block and temporal merge candidate (temporal neighboring block) neighboring the current block; acquiring a merge index indicating a candidate to be used in inter-prediction for the current block, in the merge candidate list; deriving a motion vector of each of multiple sub-blocks that the current block includes, on the basis of the motion vector of the candidate to be used in inter-prediction for the current block; and generating a prediction sample for the current block by using the motion vector of each of the sub-blocks.
