Abstract:
A purpose of the present invention is to provide a fiber article and a method for producing the fiber article, the fiber article having excellent antiviral property and/or antimicrobial property. A method for producing a fiber article according to the present invention is a method for producing a fiber article having a fiber substrate and inorganic microparticles immobilized thereon, the method being characterized by including: an amphoteric fiber ionizing step for causing a crosslinking agent to react to a fiber material including the fiber substrate or a material fiber thereof in an aqueous medium to amphoterically ionize the fiber material; and an inorganic microparticle immobilizing step for bringing the fiber material having been amphoterically ionized by the amphoteric fiber ionizing step into contact with the inorganic microparticles in an aqueous medium.
