Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for producing a lithium hydroxide aqueous solution, the method comprising a membrane electrolysis step in which a lithium salt aqueous solution is electrically decomposed with high efficiency. This method for producing a lithium hydroxide aqueous solution comprises a membrane electrolysis step in which a lithium salt aqueous solution is electrically decomposed by using a composite membrane provided with: a membrane configured from a resin in which a sulfonate group is bonded as an ion-exchange group; and a layer configured from a resin in which a carboxylic acid group is bonded. The composite membrane preferably has a polymerization unit represented by -(CF2-CF2)- and a polymerization unit represented by -(CF2-CF(-O-(CF2CF(CF3)O)-(CF2)2-CO2Li)).
