Abstract:
A method for production of a compound containing an unnatural amino acid and/or a hydroxy acid, characterized by comprising forming a complex of an unnatural amino acid or a hydroxy acid compound with tRNA for a selected natural amino acid X under the conditions which interfere with the binding between the amino acid X and the tRNA for the amino acid X and then performing the translation under the conditions for protein translation reaction in a protein translation system, and a kit for such production. A compound having an unnatural amino acid and/or a hydroxy acid therein can be produced in a simple manner by using isolated mRNA or mRNA obtained from cloned DNA.
