A method and system of video communication is presented to use synthesis media resources server to relay video to caller or callee during audio communication between caller and callee. Or when caller initiates a video communication request to callee and the callee does not support video communication, synthesis media resources server establishes an audio channel between caller and callee, at the same time, establishes a video channel between caller and itself,during audio communication between caller and callee, synthesis media resources server relays video to caller. Or when carrying out video communication and audio communication between caller and callee, one party replaces his video by the video which synthesis media resources server relays to another party, thus provides the ability of developing new communication service.
