Abstract:
A coating material containing multilayer microcapsules which comprise an active
ingredient in the state of a functional liquid encapsulated therein, a first
layer film having a block copolymer located in a surfactant-like manner and a
second film made of another polymer and have an average particle diameter of 3
μm or below. Because of containing the microcapsules carrying the active
ingredient in the state of a functional liquid encapsulated therein, the coating
material as described above can sustainedly release an ingredient in the form
of a functional liquid such as a medicine, an antibacterial agent, an antifungal
agent, an antiviral agent, an antistatic agent, an antialgal agent, a preservative,
a fragrance, an insect repellent, a bactericide, a rodent repellent, a bird repellent,
an animal repellent, an attractant, an agricultural chemical, an antifouling
pesticide, a flame retardant, an antidusting agent, a fertilizer or a deodorant.
Thus, it can impart such a function over a prolonged period of time to an article
having been coated therewith.
