Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a means which is capable of improving the cycle durability of an electrical device such as a lithium ion secondary battery. [Solution] According to the present invention, a negative electrode active material which is composed of an Si-containing alloy that has a composition represented by chemical formula (1) SixSnyMzAaLib is used in an electrical device. (In chemical formula (1), M represents one or more transition metal elements; A represents unavoidable impurities; and x, y, z, a and b represent values in mass% of respective elements and satisfy 0 < x < 100, 0 ≤ y < 100, 0 < z < 100, 0.2 ≤ b ≤ 1.5, a is the balance, and x + y + z + a + b = 100.)
