Abstract:

Compounds represented by the general formula (I), salts, solvates, or N-oxides of the same, or prodrugs of them: (I) [wherein Y and Z are each independently N or C; A is a carbocycle or a heterocycle; B is a heterocycle having at least one nitrogen atom; R is hydrogen, a substituent, or the like; and n is an integer of 0 to 10]. The compounds, salts, solvates, N-oxides, or prodrugs exhibit inhibitory activity against cysteine protease and are useful as preventive and/or therapeutic agents for osteoporosis and other diseases in which cysteine protease participates.
