Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining a β-amylase that exhibits heat resistance even with respect to high temperatures above 60°C. By screening and obtaining β-amylase-producing bacteria from soil samples, a novel Bacillus halosaccharovorans strain possessing a novel heat-resistant β-amylase, and a β-amylase derived from the novel B. halosaccharovorans strain are obtained.
