Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to acquire a high-speed and highly accurate position control method for a recorded hologram. As a means for achieving this, provided is an optical information recording and reproducing device which records an interference fringe acquired by causing reference light to interfere with signal light into an optical information recording medium as a hologram and uses the reference light to reproduce information from the hologram recorded in the optical information recording medium, said optical information recording and reproducing device being characterized in that: the optical information recording and reproducing device includes a detection light generation unit for generating light including a part of the signal light as detection light, a detection light incidence unit for allowing the detection light to enter the recorded hologram, and an optical detector for detecting the amount of diffraction light in relation to the detection light incident on the hologram; and the position of the recorded hologram is detected on the basis of the output from the optical detector.
