Abstract:
By using mask patterns of the same shape for electrode formation, an electrode and
a dielectric layer are patterned into the same shape and it is possible to eliminate a
positional shift between the electrode and the dielectric layer and obtain a
uniform discharge voltage between cells. A plasma display panel includes a first
substrate on which the electrode and the dielectric layer covering the electrode
are formed and a second substrate bonded to the first substrate. The electrode
and the dielectric layer are patterned into the same shape when viewed in a plan
view by patterning an electrode film formed on the first substrate and a dielectric
material layer formed on the electrode film by using mask patterns of the same
shape for electrode formation. The patterning surface of the electrode is covered
with an insulating film.
