Abstract:
A plasma display panel according to the present invention comprises a front face plate and a rear face plate that is arranged facing the front face plate. The front face plate comprises display electrodes, a dielectric layer that covers the display electrodes, and a protective layer that covers the dielectric layer. The protective layer includes an underlayer and metal oxide formed on the underlayer. The metal oxide is obtained by pulverizing metal oxide coarse particles. The metal oxide and the metal oxide coarse particles have a photoluminescence peak in the wavelength range of 200 to 300 nm. The peak of the metal oxide has an intensity that is at least 60% of the peak of the metal oxide coarse particles but is less than 100% thereof.
