Title:
POLYMER SUPPORTED BORON CATALYST AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING MICHAEL ADDITION REACTION PRODUCT USING THAT CATALYST
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/111460
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a polymer supported boron catalyst where boron that may be used in a Michael addition reaction is supported on a polymer and a method for producing a carbon-carbon addition product by a Michael addition reaction using this polymer supported boron catalyst. This polymer supported boron catalyst has a boron compound such as NaBH4 supported on a styrene polymer. In a liquid phase in the presence of this polymer supported boron catalyst, (a) a nucleophilic agent such as CH2(R1)2 (In the formula, R1 represents an electron-withdrawing group such as COR7 (In the formula, R7 represents a hydrocarbon group.), -NO2 or -CN) and (b) a vinyl compound represented by CH2=CH(COR9) (In the formula, R9 represents a hydrocarbon group are reacted in a Michael addition reaction to produce an addition product represented by CH(R1)2-CH2-CH2(COR9). (In the formula, R1 and R9 are the same as above.)).
