Technical Field

This invention relates to a portable barbeque grill set developed for use in outdoor activities, such as camping and picnics.

In particular, this invention of a portable barbeque grill set allows for cooking according to the intensity of the fire, by means of the adjustable grill holder that can be used to change the height, as well as the feature of rotating 360° to remove from heat. The compact design of this barbeque grill set serves as space saver, so that when not in use, it is folded via a rollable feature of the grill and foldable feature of other parts for storage and ease of transport.

Background of The Invention

A barbeque grill is a kind of cooktop of various forms, open top, usually with four legs, made of metal, copper or brass, and use for cooking food. Today, with the development of technology, although cookers working with electricity or natural gas have been developed for cooking, barbeque grills (sometimes referred to as "barbeques") are still frequently used in outdoor activities, such as camping and picnic. With the change in consumer demands, many different types of grills have been developed. In addition to fixed large built barbeque grills developed for places such as balconies and gardens, there are smaller, foldable and portable barbeque grills for outdoor activities.

The classical barbeque grill structure used today is large by necessity. This problem has been tried to be overcome with foldable and portable grills with a smaller structure have been developed. Another problem is that many grills include a fixed-height cooking surface, which can prolong the cooking process when charcoal starts to die down. Most of the currently designed portable grills are still chunky be design, and not suitable for carrying long distances without a vehicle. Also, often times during transport, current portable grill options contain debris which can be spilled and create difficulty for transporting.

In order to solve these existing problems, many studies have been done and new barbeque grills have been developed. One of these studies is the subject of the patent number TR2018 / 16506, entitled "Foldable Fast BBQ". SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION TR2018 / 16506: "The present invention is a very easy-to-use barbeque that is practical and does not require installation, so that it does not take up space in car trunk or home. The design is very light and easy to use. The foldable barbeque consists of a bottom metal-sheet and two side metal-sheet. However, they are assembled to each other. Mounting is riveted together. No assembly will be required during and after use. With the opening of the side metal-sheet, the feet are formed automatically, thus preventing the grass or table from burning. It becomes much easier to make a skewer with the apparatus attached to the side metal-sheets. It can be placed at two heights and prevents the meat from drying out. It has appropriate size ready to pack coal sold in the world."

Another study is the subject of the utility model TR2017 / 20358, entitled "Foldable Grill": "The presented invention relates to 5 folding barbeques to use in picnic areas, gardens, terrace floors, balconies and the like. The main body in the center of the system consists of two legs in front-back of the main body and two side bodies in the right-left of the main body."

Another study is the subject of the utility model TR2017 / 03895, entitled "Portable Grill": "Invention is related to portable barbeque consisting of base, bottom part, side wall with grill channel, grill, stepped grill channel, upper grill slot, air holes, mounting notches, handle holes, handle suitable for use at home and picnic. Another study is the subject of the utility model TR2017 / 01910, entitled "Portable, Practical and Stage Adjusted Grill": "It is a portable, practical and stage adjustable barbeque consisting of hook pile, hook, pile handle, horizontal shaft, vertical shaft, the grill and material pouch."

Another study is the subject of the utility model TR2014 / 07733, entitled as Easily Installable- Degradable Portable Grill": "It is about a barbeque that is portable and disassembled for cooking, meat, fish, chicken and so on. It is characterized in that it has foot, nail, plug holes, side body, rear body, front body, bottom sheet, fire grill, cooking grill, locking bar, ventilation holes and storage places."

Although the present works have provided an advantage in the development of barbeque grills which are easy to transport and require less space for storage, these barbeques are designed to burn only charcoal. Currently used barbeques are not suitable for burning materials for cooking besides charcoal, such as wood. Additionally, by design these grills all contain a fixed surface for cooking on , and if the height of the cooking grill is fixed, the heat is not as easy to adjust. For example, this can result in prolonged cooking time as the charcoal heat decreases, or if the charcoal/heat is strong, the outside of the food will burn and remain raw inside. There is no structuring to solve these problems. As a result, the need for a portable barbeque grill set which eliminates the disadvantages of the present technique and the insufficiency of the existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the related technical field.

Brief Description of the Invention

The present invention relates to a portable barbeque grill set developed for use in outdoor activities, such as camping and picnics, meeting the mentioned requirements above, eliminating all the disadvantages and introducing some strong additional advantages. One objective of the invention is to be able to adjust the height of the cooking surface depending on the current calorie of the heat source, thanks to the 360° rotatable cooking surface on the stud bar contained in the developed portable barbeque grill set. This system also makes it possible to cook with heat sources besides charcoal, such as wood fire.

All units in the set are made by stainless steel material. Stainless steel provides resistance against oil, rust and bacteria, and thus prolongs the lifetime of the unit and provides a healthier cooking option in comparison to units made by other materials. Another objective of the invention is to limit the surface area of the fire that is burned by means of a fire ring, which is included in the portable barbeque grill set, to prevent the spread of the fire.

Another objective of the invention is to provide an easy removal system of food materials from the flame, which can be particularly useful during instances of a sudden flare-up of the fire, to eliminate the risk of burning of the user's hand when the cooked food is taken from the grill. This is through the feature of the 360° rotatable cooking surface of the portable barbeque grill set. Another objective of the invention is to enable cooking in a kettle or saucepan on a wood fire due to adjustable height of the cooking surface of the barbeque grill set.

Another objective of the invention is to enable the use of the cooking plate by means of the stud bar provided in the portable barbeque grill set, a portable structure without carrying an additional large metal leg, thereby gathering both the grill and camping stove features in a single product.

Another objective of the invention is making it possible to grill/cook on wet surfaces by means of the base sheet which can be attached to the fire ring in the portable barbeque set. Another objective of the invention is to provide the cooking process with heavy containers by means of locking feet used to support the folding grill. Another objective of the invention is to provide a rich and low-smoke combustion by means of the structure of the locked legs so firewood can be replaced on the by passing through the notches in the middle of the legs if desired.

Another objective of the invention is to ensure that the mechanism which moves the reliable grill/cooking surface up and down by means of the special structure located behind the skewer/tongs included in the portable barbeque grill set, ensuring safe opening and closing by preventing the burning of the user's hand while the unit is hot.

The structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will become more apparent from the following figures and the detailed description written with reference to these figures, therefore the evaluation should be made regarding these figures and their detailed description.

Detailed Description of the Invention

In this detailed description, the portable barbeque grill set (100) developed for use in outdoor activities, such as camping and picnics, is the subject matter of the invention described here. This portable barbeque grill set is explained only as an example for a better understanding of the subject and with no limiting effect. The portable barbeque grill set (100) shown in Figure-1 has a great space-saving feature, such that when it is not in use it can be folded, and during use it also allows for adjustment of the distance to the heat source. This adjustable feature is desirable as it can eliminate the prolongation of cooking time due to the reduction of charcoal heat, and it is able to be used with other heat sources, as wood. Due to the foldable grill (110) feature of the portable barbeque grill set (100), it can be rotated 360° on the stub bar (130), which is pinned to the ground, and has the ability to move vertically up and down. The set decreases the packing/carrying volume and makes it possible to arrange the grill height depending on the existing heat power and sources.

The portable barbeque grill set (100) is made of stainless-steel material, which is resistant to oil, water, rusting and has low bacteria retention, thus the set has a longer lifetime and provides a healthier cooking option in comparison to the other BBQ. sets made of other materials. The rollable grill (110) shown in Figure-2 can be rotated 360° to remove the food when it cooked or during the sudden flaming up periods of the fire. Furthermore, this rotation feature of the Tollable grill (110), provides protection to the user from the heat of the fire during the placement and flipping the food. When the Tollable grill (110) is not used, it can be uniquely rolled up so that the portable barbeque set (100) takes little space and provides easy transport (able to fit within backpacks if needed) and storage.

The Tollable grill (110) is connected to the adjustable grill holder (120) shown in Figure-3, which is folded over the stud bar (130) when not in use. The adjustable grill holders (120) have notches, and when the Tollable grill (110) is placed on them these notches secure it in place. The rotational mechanism (122) positioned at the grill (110) to rotate 360°. The height adjustment mechanism (121) on the rotation mechanism (122) enables the use of teapots or pots on the wood fire by changing the height of the Tollable grill (110) from the fire.

The fire ring (140) shown in Figure-4a prevents the fire from spreading out. The fire ring may be manufactured in different geometric shapes. The fire ring (140) is characterized in that it forms a limiting wall around the fire by interlocking parts. Since the fire ring (140) can be completely disassembled, the portable barbeque grill set (100) is provided to take up a minimum space during storage and transportation. The base plate (150) which can be attached to the fire ring (140) shown in Figure-4b, makes it possible to use on wet surfaces. The base sheet (150) may disassembled and folded. Therefore, it minimizes the volume for transportation and storage.

Thanks to the foldable locking leg (160) shown in Figure-5a, the rollable grill (110) can be used without carrying an additional large metal leg. The portable barbeque grill set (100) incorporates both barbeque grill and camping stove features with a locked foot (160), which is folded when not in use. When the folding cooking grill surface (110) is replaced onto the locking legs (160), it is possible to cook on heavy containers. While the locked legs (160) are interlocked through the notches in the middle as shown in Figure-5b and firewood placed on the top of it therefore provides rich fire with low-smoke combustion. The barbeque grill set (100) includes sheet pan apparatus (170), which is shown in Figure-6. This apparatus (170) can be replaced to the adjustable holder (120) to use cooking utensils having a large base volume such as cooking pan and wok.

The skewer/tong apparatus (180) (Figure-7a) is a multifunctional tool and may be used for following three tasks: 1) opening and closing the height adjustment mechanism (121) for adjusting the height of the folded grill (110) shown in Figure-7b; 2) as double fork-skewer; and 3) as a tong.

The portable barbeque grill set (100), which is used for cooking food, boiling water or beverages in outdoor activities such as picnics and camping, is designed to be used with coal, wood, pellet or similar solid combustibles. All elements in the portable barbeque grill set (100) can be folded to save space during transport and storage. The basic form of the portable barbeque grill set (100) includes the stud bar (130) and the rollable grill (110) which can rotate 360° and move up/down on the stud bar (130). When installing the portable barbeque grill set (100), first the stud bar (130) should stick into the ground. In case the ground is wet or humid, the fire ring (140) and the bottom sheet (150) could be installed on the ground. While the base sheet (150) prevents the heat source from being affected by the moisture present in the ground, the fire ring (140) prevents the fire spreading around.

Once the base sheet (150) and the fire ring (140) are installed, coal, wood or similar solid combustible material can be used, and then rollable grill (110) or sheet pan apparatus (170) can be placed in the grill holder (120) according to the container to be cooked or heated. Meat and similar food can be cooked directly on the rollable grill (110), while a locked foot is used for heavy cooking pots such as casseroles, pans, pots, woks.

The grill holder (120) may be rotated along its axis when the food is placed on the rollable grill (110), thereby preventing the burning of the user's hand. Thanks to the skewer/tong (180) included in the portable barbeque grill set (100), meats or dishes cooked in containers can be rotated and mixed. When the food is cooked, the adjustable grill holder (120) and of the rollable grill (110) may be moved in a higher position by the height adjustment mechanism (121) and the skewer/tong (180) so that the food can be kept warm.

The apparatus behind the skewer/tong (180) allows to move up the height adjustment mechanism (121) and the rollable grill (110) safely, which is option to keep food warm without get burned. In order to make hot drinks, the locked foot (160) is placed into the center of the fire ring (140) by inserting the notches and the wood are placed on the locked legs (160), thus providing oxygen from the bottom and thus burning rich and smokeless. For direct cooking on the fire, the skewer/tong (180) is separated from the junction end and turned into two fork skewers and the food to be cooked is placed to the fork skewers. Since all parts of the portable barbeque grill set (100) are made of stainless steel and there is no coating material on it, it minimizes dirt becoming stuck on the surface, and rust will not form of the surface, nor will the surface produce toxic materials. The portable barbeque grill set (100) can be cleaned easily and can be used safely without any harm to human health. Preferably, for cleaning, wiping the parts with a wet cloth ensures that the cleaning process is completed. Thanks to the portable barbeque grill set (100), all foods can be cooked in a single structure without the need for additional cooking tools, thus providing a solution that can be carried by the person at any time as portable, small volume and lightweight.
