A portable printer comprises a base body (2) and a cover body (1) covering the top of the base body (2). A print head (5) arranged in a vertical direction and a paper pressing roller (209) provided opposite to the print head (5) are provided in the base body (2). The paper pressing roller (209) rotates about a first axis. The paper pressing roller (209) conveys record paper by rotating in the state that the record paper is clamped between the paper pressing roller (209) and the print head (5). An actuation rod (4) driving the print head (5) to be close to or away from the paper pressing roller (209) in response to a cover opening/closing action of the cover body (1) is provided in the base body (2). The actuation rod (4) is configured to swing around a second axis parallel to the first axis, and is provided with a mounting part suitable for mounting the print head (5) and a driving part (401) suitable for being driven by the cover body (1). The cover body (1) is provided with an abutting part (101a) capable of abutting against the driving part (401) to drive the actuation rod (4) to swing. The present application has the beneficial effects of being simple in structure, high in assembly efficiency, and easy to carry.
