Abstract:
Converters (8-1, 8-2) are arranged to perform a bi-directional DC voltage conversion
of the I/O power of secondary batteries (6-1, 6-2) during normal operation. In
a predetermined mode for charging the secondary batteries (6-1, 6-2), at least
one of the converters (8-1, 8-2) does not perform a switching operation but fixes
the upper arm elements (Q1B, Q2B) in the on state and charges the secondary batteries
(6-1, 6-2) without generating switching loss. Consequently, power loss in
the converter is reduced when the secondary batter is charged and charging efficiency
can be enhanced.
