Abstract:
Provided is a power tool configured so that it is possible to effectively cool a switch mechanism having a heat-generating member accommodated in a handle part. A power tool having a housing part that accommodates a motor 6 and a cooling fan 8, and a handle part 5B connected to the housing part, air suction ports 41, 42a-42d, 43 being provided in the housing part, and outside air being suctioned into the housing part by the rotation of the cooling fan 8, wherein: a passage 52 is formed in the handle part 5B, the passage 52 guiding a cooling airflow from the air suction port 41 rearward away from the cooling fan 8; the cooling airflow is caused to flow from an opening 53 into the handle part 5B to cool a heat-generating mechanism included in a switch mechanism 60; and the cooling airflow is again returned to the housing part. In the housing part, a discharge is made to the exterior from discharge ports 13a, 13b together with the cooling airflow from the other air suction ports 42a-42d, 43.
