Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an edging lens and a pre-edging lens whereby the cell gap in a liquid-crystal lens structure can be kept uniform with virtually no spacer material on the inside of the edging lens. Said pre-edging lens is characterized by having: a first transparent substrate; a second transparent substrate; a first sealing material into which a spacer material is not mixed; a liquid-crystal layer sealed in between the first transparent substrate, the second transparent substrate, and the first sealing material; and a second sealing material into which a spacer material is mixed. The second sealing material is disposed at a location that is outside the first sealing material between the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate and that is removed after edging.
