Abstract:
A process for producing a flaky silver powder which has excellent powder properties
and which, when used to prepare a conductive paste, can prevent the paste from
giving a conductor having increased resistance. The silver powder can prevent
a conductivity decrease without fail. The process for producing a flaky silver
powder is characterized by comprising: a dispersion step in which a fine silver
powder composed of approximately spherical silver particles is dispersed in
a solvent to prepare a slurry; a processing step in which the slurry and medium
beads having a particle diameter of 0.2 mm or smaller are introduced into a bead
mill and mixed and stirred to plastically deform each silver particle to form
flaky silver particles; a separation/collection step in which the slurry is
separated from the medium beads and the flaky silver particles are collected;
and a washing/drying step in which the flaky silver particles collected are washed
and dried to remove impurities and water and obtain the flaky silver particles.
