Abstract:
A radar device (1) comprises: an elevation angle computation unit (31) that computes the distance (Dt) and the elevation angle (θ) between the radar device and a target (TG) that has reflected a transmission signal cyclically transmitted from a transmission unit (10); and a target determination unit (33) that determines that the target (TG) is an upper object if the position of the target (TG) relative to a road surface (100) is higher than that of the radar device. The target determination unit (33) includes: an altitude computation unit (51) that cyclically computes the altitude (Ht) from the elevation angle (θ) and the distance (Dt) of the target (TG); a difference computation unit (52) that computes the maximum difference (Hd), which is the difference between the maximum value (Hh) and the minimum value (Hl) of the altitude (Ht) for a predetermined number of cycles (n); and a condition determination unit (53) that determines that the target (TG) is an upper object if a determination subject computation value based on the maximum difference (Hd) is greater than or equal to a predetermined determination value (TH1).
