Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of improving recording quality even when a second interval considering floating of a medium is set. A recording device 1 is provided with: a platen 15 that serves as a support unit to support a medium 5; a head 13 that relatively scans the platen 15 in a main scanning direction and ejects a liquid droplet onto the medium 5 supported by the platen 15; and an interval change unit that is provided in at least one of a first area and a second area sandwiching a recording area PA of the medium 5 therebetween in the main scanning direction. The interval change unit is provided so as not to overlap the recording area when seen from a direction orthogonal to a surface of the platen 15 that supports the medium 5. A first interval that is an interval between the interval change unit and the head 13 is narrower than a second interval that is an interval between the platen 15 and the head 13 in the recording area PA.
