Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to both improve the brightness of a SCASN phosphor and achieve depth of color rendering properties. Provided is a red phosphor represented by general formula MAlSiN3 and having a main crystal phase with the same crystal structure as that of CaAlSiN3 , and characterized in that the internal quantum efficiency when excited by light with a wavelength of 455 nm is 71% or more, and that in the general formula, M is an element group comprising at least three elements from the set consisting of Eu, Sr, Mg, Ca, and Ba and essentially comprising Eu, Sr, and Ca, with the Eu content of 4.5 to 7.0 mass%, Sr content of 34.0 to 42.0 mass%, and Ca content of 0.8 to 3.0 mass%.
