Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to obtain a control device of a rotating electrical machine drive system capable of appropriately protecting a power device of an inverter circuit when an excessively large current is applied from the inverter circuit to the rotating electrical machine. A control device 400 of a rotating electrical machine drive system 100 is provided with a rotating electrical machine 300 having a stator 310 configured from phase coils of N (where N is an integer at least equal to 3) phases, and an inverter circuit 200 including a power device 201 which applies an N-phase alternating current voltage to the stator 310, and also includes a control unit which performs PWM control of the power device 201. The inverter circuit 200 includes a clamp circuit 250 which is energized when a voltage at least equal to a prescribed voltage is applied between an input terminal 202 and a signal input terminal 203 of the power device 201. Furthermore, when the clamp circuit 250 enters the energized state, the control unit reduces the PWM control frequency in the energized state compared with the PWM control frequency prior to the clamp circuit 250 entering the energized state.
