Abstract:
A rotor (10) for a rotary machine (100), said rotor (10) containing the following: ring-shaped anchor members (3) that are affixed to a shaft (4) via press-fitting and constrain the shaft-axis-direction position of a rotor core (1); and end plates (2) that are affixed to the outside edges of the anchor members (3) and constrain the shaft-axis-direction position of a magnet (5) embedded inside the rotor core (1). The anchor members (3) mitigate the impact of thermal-expansion differences between the shaft (4) and the end plates (2). Materials are selected such that the anchor members (3) have an intermediate coefficient of linear expansion between that of the shaft (4), which is made from iron, and that of the end plates (2), which are non-magnetic.
