Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a self-aligning roller bearing retainer in which it is possible to adopt not only a bearing guide method, but also a raceway ring guide method, without reducing the life of the bearing generated by skew or fretting of the roller, and having good ease of assembly of the bearing. [Solution] A retainer 1A used in a self-aligning roller bearing having two roller rows. The retainer comprises a pair of single-row retainers 2A, 2B that respectively guide the two roller rows. The single-row retainers 2A, 2B each form a shape in which a large-diameter ring part 3 and a small-diameter ring part 4 separated in the axial direction are connected by a plurality of column parts 5, and a flange 6 extending radially outward is provided to the large-diameter ring. A concavoconvex engagement part A comprising concave parts B and convex parts C is provided on the large-diameter-side end face 6A of the flange 6. The retainer is used in a state in which the concavoconvex engagement parts A of the single-row retainers 2A, 2B are engaged, the engagement depth of the concavoconvex engagement parts A being set to be greater than the axial-direction gap of the bearing.
