Abstract:

This sensor substrate 4 is provided with an insulating substrate 1 having a primary surface, and with a detection electrode 2 disposed on the primary surface of the insulating substrate 1 and having, as the primary component, a first metal material comprising a base metal-based material that is catalytically inactive in decomposition reactions of microparticles, wherein the exposed surface 21 of the detection electrode 2 is covered by a passivation film of a metal material. Because the substance to be detected by the detection electrode 2, e.g. soot, is kept from being decomposed due to catalytic reaction, and oxidation of the detection electrode 2 as a whole is suppressed by means of the passivation film, the substance to be detected is detected with high accuracy.
