[Problem] To make it possible to detect the occurrence of an abnormality in a more suitable way, when said abnormality occurs in signal processing applied to an image signal. [Solution] A signal processing device comprises: a signal processing unit that performs signal processing on a pixel signal; and a data generation unit that associates first test data from a first process, second test data from a second process, and valid data obtained by performing the second process on a pixel signal corresponding to a second frame subsequent to a first frame, and that generates frame data corresponding to the second frame. The first process is signal processing for generating valid data in the first frame. The second process is signal processing for generating valid data in the second frame. The presence/absence of an abnormality in signal processing is diagnosed on the basis of the first test data associated with frame data corresponding to the first frame and the first test data associated with frame data corresponding to the second frame.
