Abstract:
A capacitor element 70, which is one example of a solid electrolytic capacitor element according to the present invention, includes: a valve action metal substrate 40, the shape of which as seen in a planar view from the thickness direction is square; an insulating mask layer 51 provided on a dielectric layer 50 so as to cover the four sides along the periphery of the main surface of the valve action metal substrate 40; and a cathode layer 60 provided on the dielectric layer 50. The cathode layer 60 includes a solid electrolytic layer 61 provided on the dielectric layer 50 in a region surrounded by the insulating mask layer 51. The solid electrolytic layer 61 has an end section 61x that intrudes into part of the insulating mask layer 51 along at least one side of the outer-peripheral section of the region surrounded by the insulating mask layer 51.
