Abstract:
This power conversion device (11) comprises a dynamo electric machine (40) having windings (41U, 41V, 41W, 41X, 41Y) in a star-shaped connection, and an inverter (30) having a serially connected body of upper arm switches (QUH, QVH, QWH, QXH, QYH) and lower arm switches (QUL, QVL, QWL, QXL, QYL). This power conversion device comprises: a connection route (60) that electrically connects a negative electrode side of a first power storage unit and a positive electrode side of a second power storage unit in the serially connected first power storage units (21, 32a) and the second power storage units (22, 32b), and the neutral point of the windings; a connection switch (61) provided in the connection route; an assessment unit that assesses whether to turn the connection switch on; and a control unit that, when it has been assessed by the assessment unit that the connection switch is to be turned on, turns on the connection switch and controls switching of the upper arm switches and the lower arm switches.
