Abstract:
This solid-state imaging device is provided with: an overflow element group for accumulating signal charges that have overflowed in a photodiode (PD); and a floating diffusion layer (FD) for selectively holding signal charges transferred from the photodiode (PD) and signal charges transferred from the overflow element group. The overflow element group is composed of m sets (m≧2) of an overflow element (OF1) and a storage capacitor element (C1), the sets being connected in series in stages. The overflow element (OF1 to OFm) transfers signal charges that have overflowed in the photodiode (PD) or signal charges of the storage capacitor element (C1) of a previous stage to the storage capacitor element (C1 to Cm) in the same set as that of the overflow element (OF1 to OFm).
