Abstract:
In the present invention, color mixing between pixels is prevented in a solid-state imaging element having placed therein a pair of pixels for detecting the phase difference of a pair of light rays. A pair of photoelectric conversion elements receives light of the pair of light rays that underwent pupil-splitting. A floating diffusion layer generates a pair of pixel signals from charges transferred from each of the pair of photoelectric conversion elements. A pair of transfer transistors transfers the charges from the pair of photoelectric conversion elements to the floating diffusion layer. A back gate voltage which is the back gate potential of both of the pair of transfer transistors with respect to a potential barrier between the pair of photoelectric conversion elements is controlled to a value different from when synthesizing the pair of pixel signals.
