Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a surfactant composition for foaming sand that has exceptional rapid-foaming properties for foaming sand and improves the strength of a mold during molding manufacture of a sand core, etc., using the foaming sand. [Solution] This surfactant composition for foaming sand contains 80-99.8 mass% of a compound (A) in formula (1), 0.1-10 mass% of a compound (B) in formula (2), and 0.1-10 mass% of an ampholytic surfactant (C). Formula (1): R1O-(EO)n-SO3M1 (R1 indicates a C6-22 hydrocarbon group, EO is an oxyethylene group, n is a number from 1 to 10, and M1 is an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, or organic ammonium.) Formula (2): R2O-SO3M2 (R2 is a C6-22 alkyl group, and M2 is an alakli metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonium, or organic ammonium.)
