Abstract:
The strength of a cell stack is improved, component machining is facilitated, the machining cost is lowered, the output characteristics are improved, and further the material cost is lowered. A unit cell (1) comprises a fuel electrode (porous fuel electrode) (2) made of porous material, an electrolytic membrane (3) formed on one of the sides of the porous fuel electrode (2), an air electrode membrane (4) formed on the electrolytic membrane, a separator membrane (5) formed on the other side of the porous fuel electrode (2), and a porous air electrode (6) joined to the air electrode membrane (4). A cell stack (14) is made by stacking such unit cells (1) and attaching a manifold plate (11) to the stack.
