Abstract:
In order to permit two halves (101, 102) of a hand tool (100) to be quickly separated and then reconnected following an operation such as gaining access to, storing or exchanging a cutting blade, tool or the like, a connector (104) is arranged to require rotation only through about 90 DEG to achieve disconnection/connection. The connector (104) has an engagement/locking feature (110) which can pass through an elongate/shaped opening on one of the two halves (101, 102), and then be prevented from passing back therethrough when the rotational angle of the connector (104) is changed with respect to the opening and rotates the engaging/locking feature (110) into engagement with an external surface surrounding the elongate/shaped opening.
