Abstract:
A cover-adjacent side plate 40 of a vane pump 100 has a first sliding surface 40a and a second sliding surface 40b parallel to each other. The first sliding surface 40a is assembled so as to slide against a rotor 2 and a vane 3 when the rotor 2 rotates in one direction, and the second sliding surface 40b is assembled so as to slide against the rotor 2 and the vane 3 when the rotor 2 rotates in a direction opposite the aforementioned direction.
