Abstract:
A vehicle drive device is provided with: a first battery (111) for storing DC power; a power transmission means having a DC-AC converter (121a) for converting DC power to AC power, and a power transmission antenna (122a) for wirelessly transmitting power; a power-receiving means having an AC-DC converter (201a) for converting AC power to DC power, and a power-receiving antenna (123a) for wirelessly receiving AC power transmitted from the power transmission antenna; a motor (M) for driving a vehicle wheel, and mounted to the hub of the vehicle wheel; a second battery (212a) for storing DC power received via the power-receiving means; an inverter (203a) for converting DC power in the second battery to AC power; a torque control unit (222) for controlling the rotational drive of the motor; and a remainder control unit (221) for controlling the wireless power supply from the power transmission means to the power-receiving means. Therein, the power transmission surface of the power transmission antenna and the power-receiving surface of the power-receiving antenna are positioned so as to face one another horizontally in relation to the ground.
