Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To process an object by vibration, the object is vibrated and a sufficient amount of displacement and response speed are applied to it, so that the object is efficiently processed. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] To grind the outer surface of a workpiece (W), first and second support members (2, 3) for supporting the work (W) at two opposed places are installed, and first and second vibrators (10, 11), each consisting of piezoelements, are disposed in blind holes (6h) in the center holding members (6) of the first and second support members (2, 3). The first and second vibrators (10, 11) are driven by sine wave signals, different in phase by 180 degrees from each other, to expand and contract the center holding members (6) in a front-rear direction. This amplifies the amount of displacement to perform processing. Further, the second support member (3) is made movable relative to the first support member (2).
