Abstract:
[Problem] To be able to determine and control viewpoint movement in the delivery of high-definition video signals capable of free movement through a viewing region, without user involvement. [Solution] The system comprises: a video region segmentation step in which a video region of an input video signal is segmented into a predetermined number of regions, and a plurality of segmented-region video signals corresponding to the segmented regions obtained from the segmentation is generated; an encoding step in which the plurality of segmented-region video signals is encoded and a plurality of video bit streams is generated; a step in which the plurality of video bit streams generated in the encoding step is stored in a video bit stream group storage unit having storage capabilities; a transmission bit stream generation step in which the video bit streams are extracted from the video bit stream group storage unit on the basis of the viewpoint movement information generated in the viewpoint movement information determination step, and video bit streams for transmission are generated; and a video bit stream transmission step in which the video bit streams for transmission generated in the transmission bit stream generation step are transmitted to a receiving device. Viewpoint movement information for identifying a region to be viewed is determined in the viewpoint movement information determination step from among the video regions. The viewpoint information is further determined automatically in the viewpoint movement information determination step on the basis of pre-set data without relying on a command from the user.
