Abstract:
Provided is a visual recognition support device for supporting visual recognition by a driver of a vehicle, the visual recognition support device comprising a driver monitoring sensor, a vehicle-exterior monitoring sensor, and a warning output device. The visual recognition support device comprises: a driver status information acquisition unit for acquiring status information pertaining to the driver on the basis of driver monitoring information from a driver monitoring sensor; an object detection unit for detecting objects present in the periphery of the vehicle on the basis of vehicle-exterior monitoring information from a vehicle-exterior monitoring sensor; a visual observation determination unit for specifying to which of a plurality of pre-classified groups the object belongs, and determining whether the visual observation of the driver is adequate on the basis of the status information and group information of the group to which the object belongs; and a warning information output unit for outputting warning information to generate a warning in the warning output device when it is determined by the visual observation determination unit that the visual observation of the driver is inadequate.
