Abstract:
The present invention provides: a wax which is used in an electrostatic image developing toner, and consequently enables the toner to have excellent fixability at low temperatures and excellent thermal storage stability, while having improved gloss properties in comparison to conventional electrostatic image developing toners and becoming less susceptible to the occurrence of ultramicroparticles and the occurrence of bleeding of the wax; and an electrostatic image developing toner which contains this wax. A wax for electrostatic image developing toners, which is used in an electrostatic image developing toner, and which is characterized by being an ester wax that is produced by an esterification reaction of pentaerythritol and a monocarboxylic acid, while being also characterized in that: the monocarboxylic acid used for the esterification reaction contains behenic acid, arachidic acid and stearic acid; and the content ratio of the behenic acid is 60-80% by mass, the content ratio of the arachidic acid is 5-15% by mass and the content ratio of the stearic acid is 15-25% by mass, respectively relative to 100% by mass of the monocarboxylic acid.
