To provide a half cutting apparatus for efficiently cutting a cutting object in half in a short time.SOLUTION: A half cutting apparatus 10 includes: a cradle 40 for supporting a cutting object 12 whose axis is directed laterally; a feed bar 60 designed to attach the cradle 40 onto a base 62; transfer means 80 for causing the feed bar 60 to advance and retreat in parallel with the axis of the cutting object 12; and cutting means 20 for cutting out the cutting object 12 in parallel with the axis thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
