Abstract:
To provide an ultraviolet projection method for photopheresis capable of inducing to-be-processed cells contained in a liquid sample for photopheresis to immunotolerance with high accuracy by causing apoptosis of or damaging the cells without having to perform a complex process such as centrifugation, and also to provide a microdevice for use in the ultraviolet projection method and an ultraviolet projection device for photopheresis comprising the microdevice.SOLUTION: The ultraviolet projection method includes: introducing a liquid sample for photopheresis into a flow channel provided on a wall part of the microdevice for photopheresis; and projecting ultraviolet light onto the liquid sample for photopheresis through the wall part. The ultraviolet projection method is characterized in that the length of the flow channel in a projection direction of the ultraviolet light is 70 μm or more and 500 μm or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
