Abstract:
To provide a liquid-cooled jacket manufacturing method that can suitably weld aluminium alloy of different kinds of materials.SOLUTION: The liquid-cooled jacket manufacturing method includes: a placement step in which a first butting part J1 is formed by butting a step side surface 12b of a peripheral wall step part 12 to an outer peripheral side 3c of a sealing body 3, a second butting part J2 is formed by superposing a step bottom surface 12a of the peripheral wall step part 12 with a rear surface 3b of the sealing body 3 and further a third butting part J3 is formed so that a gap is generated when butting a step side surface 17b of a support post step part 17 to a hole wall 4a of a hole part 4 of the sealing body 3; and a second main welding step in which a tip-end side pin F3 and a base-end side pin F2 of a rotary tool F for main welding which rotates are inserted into the sealing body 3, and friction agitation is performed while flowing second aluminium alloy of the sealing body 3 into the gap when moving the rotary tool F for main welding along the third butting part J3 in a state where an outer peripheral surface of the tip-end side pin F3 is not contacted with the step side surface 17b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
