Abstract:
To provide a liquid-cooled jacket manufacturing method that can suitably weld aluminium alloy of different kinds of materials.SOLUTION: A rotary tool F for main welding includes a base-end side pin F2 and a tip-end side pin F3. A taper angle of the base-end side pin F2 is set to be larger than a taper angle of the tip-end side pin F3. The liquid-cooled jacket manufacturing method includes a first main welding step in which the tip-end side pin F3 and the base-end side pin F2 of the rotary tool F for main welding which rotates are inserted into a sealing body 3, and friction agitation is performed so that second aluminium alloy of the sealing body 3 flows into a gap when the rotary tool F for main welding is moved along a first butting part J1 in a state where an outer peripheral surface of the base-end side pin F2 is contacted with a surface 3a of the sealing body 3 and an outer peripheral surface of the tip-end side pin F3 is not contacted with a step side surface 12b of a peripheral wall part 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
