Abstract:
To provide pharmaceutical preparations for treating Stargardt's macular dystrophy (SMD) and dry age-related macular degeneration (dry AMD).SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical preparations comprise human RPE cells. A method comprises transplanting such a pharmaceutical preparation into an eye of a human subject by submacular injection in a transplantation site including native RPE cells together with overlying photoreceptors; where the human RPE cells are from in vitro differentiation of pluripotent stem cells.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A-B
