Abstract:
To provide a substance for inhibiting proliferation of P.falciparum which is fabricated by using lactoferrin as a raw material.SOLUTION: A composition for inhibiting proliferation of P.falciparum contains a lactoferrin decomposed product as an active ingredient, in which the lactoferrin decomposed product inhibits hemozoin formation of P.falciparum or decomposes hemozoin. It is preferable that the lactoferrin decomposed product is a lactoferrin decomposed product by pepsin, and a bovine lactoferrin decomposed product. Hemozoin decomposition activity of the lactoferrin decomposed product is measured by a method including a step of treating heme by acid under the presence of surfactant and preparing hemozoin, a step of incubating hemozoin with the lactoferrin decomposed product, and a step of observing the decomposition degree of hemozoin by a microscope.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
