Abstract:
To provide a data transfer device, an image capturing device, and a data transfer method that can improve the efficiency of data transfer to a device not adaptable to the function of descriptor chain transfer while restraining memory access.SOLUTION: The data transfer device that performs transfer control for transferring data to a recording device includes: a memory that stores a plurality of pieces of data to be transferred to the recording device in a plurality of discontinuous regions; first control means that sets, in the recording device, descriptor information containing an address and data size information of data to be transferred to the recording device, the data being recorded in continuous regions; and second control means that, in response to receipt of a readout request for data based on the address contained in the descriptor information set in the recording device from the recording device, exerts control to sequentially read out the plurality of pieces of data stored in the discontinuous regions of the memory, rather than the data requested by the readout request, and to output the plurality of pieces of data to the recording device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
