Abstract:
To enable an optical fiber for communication that forms an optical fiber cable in pairs to be accurately identified.SOLUTION: A optical fiber 7 for communication and an optical fiber 8 for plastic wire gauge identification are juxtaposed to form a pair and one or more pairs are provided, which are, for example, integrally shielded to obtain an optical fiber cord 2. An optical connector 3 for connecting the optical fiber 7 for communication to the other side of optical connection is provided at both ends of the optical fiber 7 for communication, and an optical fiber fixing member 16 is provided inward of the place where the optical connector 3 is disposed. The tip of the optical fiber 8 for wire gauge identification that is paired with the optical fiber 7 for communication is inserted into and fixed in an insertion hole 18 of the optical fiber for wire gauge identification that is provided in the optical fiber fixing member 16 and exhibits a curved shape, and is set at an angle in the range from approximately 90° to approximately 180° relative to the tip of the optical fiber 7 for communication. Visible light having passed through the optical fiber 8 for wire gauge identification is emitted to the optical fiber 7 for communication at the set angle, for easy visibility to a worker.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
