To provide a controlling system and a controlling method of a smart material storage facility.SOLUTION: The controlling system and the controlling method is for a smart material storage facility. The smart material storage facility has a plurality of material shelves, and each material shelf has a plurality of material holders that store material. The controlling system has a system server and a plurality of controlling devices, and each material shelf is provided with a controlling device. The controlling devices are connected to the system server, and the controlling device provided on each material shelf activates the controlling device when the material is entered into or taken out of the material holder, and the controlling device transmits the position of the material holder to the system server, thereby the system server storing the position of the material holder in association with the material data. The user can easily perform the material in/out work and also can arbitrarily change the specifications and positions of the material shelves and material holders as well as can increase or decrease the quantities of the material shelves and the material holders.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
